And then you’ll see those same people in real life and realize… they barely acknowledge anyone outside their social ecosystem. Sometimes they act like they’ve never met you before. Even if you’ve met multiple times. And maybe they genuinely forgot your name. That happens. I forget names too sometimes. But there’s a difference between forgetting someone’s name and making someone feel invisible.

We reduce people constantly. To politics. To disabilities. To appearances. To social status. To mistakes. To annoyances. To inconveniences. But I don’t think God sees us that way. I think God sees through the limitation. I think He sees the whole person.

While sitting in the sauna after a workout recently, a thought came to me. Weight training builds strength. Cardio builds capability. Strength means you can lift something heavy. Capability means you can keep going. Real life requires both. You might be able to lift something impressive once, but what happens when the job requires stamina? When you need to carry something, move something, help someone, or work for hours? Strength without endurance isn’t enough.

How many people are quietly starving for simple human acknowledgment. Not attention. Not validation. Not performance. Just acknowledgment. A smile. Eye contact. A thank you. A question that isn’t transactional. A moment where they feel visible instead of invisible. I think modern life is making us forget this. We order from screens. We self-checkout. We scroll past each other. We consume content all day long but barely experience actual connection.

Recently, I exited multiple mountain biking group chats on WhatsApp. Not because I dislike the people. I genuinely enjoy them. They’re good people. But hundreds and hundreds of messages, videos, pictures, notifications, updates, and conversations constantly flooding my phone began to feel overwhelming. It started feeling less like community and more like noise. And honestly, I think many of us are carrying more mental and emotional input than human beings were ever designed

The valleys teach things the mountaintops never can. The injuries teach things health never can. The disappointments teach things success never can. The losses teach things comfort never can.

Because deep down, I know this: My kids won’t remember how dialed my routine was. They’ll remember if I was there.

When you're living life, it rarely makes sense. When you're living life, you're usually standing in the middle of the valley wondering where the trail went. But years later, standing on a ridge, you can finally see how everything connected.

Faith Is Not a Map I think sometimes we want God to hand us a map. Step one. Step two. Step three. Clear directions. But faith doesn’t work that way. Faith is more like planting the seed and trusting that growth will come. You water. You care for the soil. You stay in the sunlight. And you trust the process. Even when you can’t see what’s happening underground.

Cars driving past us without stopping. And I remember being strangely calm. Not brave. Not fearless. Just… still. I remember thinking...

Modern Christianity often wants certainty about everything. Every doctrine neatly packaged. Every mystery solved. Every verse explained with complete confidence. But ancient believers and theologians often approached God differently. There was far more awe, mystery, and humility involved.
